Getting back to normal – but what IS normal?

It was time for the seasonal rearrange at the shop. I try to do a major rearrange with every season, but it doesn’t always happen. Normally, Erin has come up and helped, but this time I was on my own. She’s gone to back to work full time. I was really sick of seeing everything as it was and still had a mess where I moved stuff around to get Lisa and her monogramming paraphernalia  in. So I took stuff down, moved it around, poked at it, stepped over it broke a few things and became totally overwhelmed. I simply could not go forward. After a couple of weeks of this, I called my talented friend, Tiffany, to the rescue.

Tiffany truly has a gift and even she, at one point, said she didn’t know what to do with it all. We were supposed to be doing it together, but I had a couple of items to pack and get out the door for the mail carrier, then we went to Lena’s for a few and went to lunch. Got back to the shop and a customer took up a good bit of time. And I’d told my sister-in-law that I’d ride with her out in the boonies where her job was taking her that day. Poor Tiff. I was of no help in my own shop. I felt bad about it. I really did! But she did a fantastic job. I wanted to share some pictures of the room she focused on that day. The room I call the garden room. It isn’t necessarily that, but the name seems to fit.

And here’s a picture of a primitive, pine cupboard that has been painted blue on the inside. Tiring of the blue and not wanting to paint, I lined it with sheet music and put black and cream things on the shelves. Sorry about the lighting.

Lena’s memorial was yesterday. Several times last night I was so tempted to pick up the phone to call her and discuss who was there and how I liked her sister-in-law just like she said I would. Yes, I’m gonna miss her.

It’s time now to try to get back to normal — whatever that is.

Really like the way your blog looks -how did I miss it?
I remember selling a couple sets of those Siamese cats -mid Sixties ones -in the Fifties they were china and sometimes spaghetti. And I bet those Peanuts salt shakes and nodder go to Japan.
Off to figure out how to follow you…
