Yup. That’s right. I found where the Jolly Green Giant – talked about in this post – went to live. Actually, my friend Melanie spotted him first. He’s now holding up the sign for an upholstery place. They’ve always had a Winnie the Pooh sitting atop a bucket seat out of a car, which as strapped on top of their sign as their mascot. Pooh’s still there, but some feet behind him is Green Giant holding another sign.

This place, not terribly classy, but they do good work at a reasonable price. They’re who I use if it’s not something I trust myself with.

Last week I strayed off my usual path and went to Montgomery to Judy’s mother’s sale. Even though I was late getting there, I did find a few things to bring home. I don’t know much about the area and I don’t think their paper gets all the classifieds put online, so I just roamed looking for somewhere else to go. Actually found another estate sale, but only bought a couple of interesting keys. Found two thrifts. And that’s all I have to say about that.

Undaunted, I was hot on the trail Saturday back in Birmingham. Whew! A place I’m more comfortable in. A place that almost always has 5 or 6 estate sales and countless yard sales every weekend. What did I buy?…. I’m thinking…. Yes, it hurts. Why do you ask? …. I know I bought several things….. But what?… That was, after all, a week ago….. I give up. Got some stuff.

Tomorrow, Rhoda is having a yard sale at her house. I hope to make it, but not sure I will. I won’t say the “s” word, but something’s not feeling right today.

I’m so hoping to be able to go to a local restaurant tonight to see some of the old – as in when I was a kid and looked up to these guys because they had a band like the Beatles and had actually made an album – bands are getting together and playing. The place is supposed to be packed. They were supposed to start playing during half time of the ball game. That really leaves it up in the air as to what time to get there that’s not too early, but still early enough to get in the door. We’ll see.
