Oooo that is a bit of a dilemma...it does have such great shape and lovely lines...and that is hard to come by...

Since it was free, I'd say you really do have to keep it and give it a lovely transformation! Good luck!

It is a very nice style. It would be a beauty recovered. I could certainly see it in your shop, although it might take up a good deal of floor space ~ can you spare the space? The amazing part is you got it for free! Love that! Can't wait to see it when you recover it...

I'd love to be entered into your vintage valentine giveaway...

Blessings,

I love sofas like this--always wanted one just for reading--is it Duncan Phyfe? If you ever decide to replicate that missing leg and are willing to part with it (the whole thing, not just the leg), I wish you'd write or call me. I agree with Bettye. This would be charming for a reading corner! You could stack a lot of linens on it, too. Do you have vintage dolls? They might like to sit on it and drink tea, play checkers or have storytime. . . .

it *is* a lovely shape. i'd have dragged it home too, torn fabric or no. it can't sit in the shop with fabrics (do you sell fabrics?) stacked neatly on it? it can't sit in the shop with a kitty curled up on it? do you have a shop kitty? it can't sit in the shop in the reading corner (do you sell books?), draped with mismatched fabrics to hide the tear, a charming old floor lamp by its side??
